Leaving Mykonos, we first had a stopover on Delos, while it is not as stunning as Delphi, but what is? Nevertheless it’s still yaw dropping. Inhabited some 5000 years ago by runaways fron Crete’s King Minos. It was already known as birthplace of Apollo and Artemis when Odysseus came by.
Delos was a free state and therefore granted lots of merchandise rights. Of course it prospered fast and as it was second important oracle of the region surely Delphi got jealous and purged it. Fast.
Today you see a huge areal with the ground wall all intact. We had again the privilege of being the only tourists on the island. Which by now gets a litte scary as we hope economy really starts to recover. We like being with people.
On Naxos we spent a night under the bow of Apollo in the temple of Poseidon. and met our danish friends again. Next day we moved to Naussea on Paros which is really very very beautiful and seems to be very very posh. Small pitoresk harbour, very cute and very expensive restaurant. Must be amazing when crowded.
But some magic magnetism pull us back to Mykonos. Here we are now weathering the Meltemi with gusts of over 40 Knots of wind. But the anchor holds.
